• Ritch Duncan: Set for Life

    Event

  • Ritch Duncan (Billy on the Street, SNL, Sesame Workshop) used to do stand up in NYC almost every day for more than a decade, before largely transitioning to writing. He was good! Seriously, ask anybody. OK, fine, maybe ask somebody old. In March of this year, he challenged himself to return to stand up to perform 90 sets in 90 days, with no ego or expectation beyond doing the work. The idea came from Alcoholics Anonymous, who recommend newly sober alcoholics attend 90 AA meetings in 90 days, as the immersion not only indicates commitment, but allows time to build community, forge relationships, and create a manageable but still rigorous regimen of self-discipline. If you're reading this, he actually pulled it off. On Sunday, June 23rd at QED Astoria, (one night only)  he will relate the story of this three-month comedy project, told through original material he developed while doing it.
