Join us for an hour of writing at QED, the creative arts space voted #1 in all of NYC by Time Out NY readers.
ABOUT THE EVENT:
No matter what you're writing, you are invited to shut up and write it with us for one hour. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice.
11:30am - QED opens - come early, if you'd like!
12 - 12:15pm - Check in, grab a refreshment, make quick introductions (arrive earlier if you need more time to get settled in!)
12:15 - 1:15pm - Timer starts for 60 mins! Write!
1:15 - 2:30 (or a little more?) - Hang out, share your work with the group (or not, no pressure!), crack knuckles and chill or keep writing.
NOTE: People who arrive late are a buzzkill. The point is to be quiet and write and late arrivals disrupt the flow. So come early (QED opens at 11:30!), get settled in and enjoy one hour (or more!) of disruption free writing!
OPTIONAL - If the group would like such a thing, there is the option to have an open mic / reading at QED but we'd have to schedule it in advance.
We'll play some ambient beats, but bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block that out or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
Other Important Details:
QED has free WiFi & several outlets available
Street parking; short walk from the Ditmars (last stop) off the N train
ONE MAIN RULE: There is a zero tolerance policy at QED for outside food or drinks other than your water bottle. QED is a performing arts space by and for creatives that is kept affordable and accessible. Please help keep it that way by thanking our hosts with a purchase of food or drinks or something from the book/gift shop.
