About the Instructor
Michael Shofi is an Astoria based singer-songwriter, music producer, and music educator. He performs live music at all kinds of events from kids’ birthday parties to community gatherings, and teaches guitar to students of all ages. Michael has shared the stage with nationally touring artists including Plain White T's and brings the same joy and energy of live music to his classes. He also works with Project: Music Heals Us, bringing music to hospitals, palliative care patients, and correctional facilities. Michael loves creating welcoming musical spaces where everyone can sing, move, and connect through music.
