• Functional Gell-Printing Workshop

    Event

  • In this class, participants will learn how to use a gelli plate to make prints without a press on functional objects with instructor Kaili Woop . You will be able to make prints on multiple surfaces using several techniques: collagraph printing (using textured objects to make marks) and monotype techniques. We'll explore the unique textures and marks we can create with a Gelli plate and choose to print on fabric, paper, or both.

Participants will be provided with materials such as paint, fabric medium, repurposed/recycled materials and gelli plates. You will have the option to print on (and take home) several different objects such as fabric tote bags, canvas pouches, and paper. You can also bring your own product to print on, such as a t-shirt!

You are welcome to bring your own materials for creating collagraph prints! Please make sure that your objects are soft (no sharp edges) and have great texture! Some ideas include bubble wrap, aluminum foil, yarn, and lace.
