Q.E.D. will hold an opening night reception with light snacks in celebration of a new installation featuring work by local artist Domingo Carrasco.
Combining his love of non-objective painting with linear figurative forms, Queens New York native Domingo Carrasco has partnered with Q.E.D to present his series of recent works. Themes & Variations is a continuation of paintings and works on paper which celebrate line, color and classical forms. This body of work attempts to idealize the human spirit whilst emphasizing Domingo’s fascination with notions related to classical imagery. Through bold line and color, Themes & Variations captures the artists’ struggles as he seeks to tame the physical properties of the medium without compromising the narrative element of the work. Domingo is simplifying, exaggerating, and, at times, abstracting his pictures to evoke alternative perspectives from his audience.
Since its opening, Q.E.D.’s gallery has featured rotating artwork from local artists including photographers, painters and experimental artwork such as its most recent artist-in-residence Liquid Light Lab.
Domingo's artwork will remain on display at QED through December.
