Comedy Chops is an elimination style, improvised comedy competition show. Four comics will compete by performing three rounds of three minute sets using mystery topics during each round. Comics will have 5 minutes to write jokes based on the mystery topics (prompts), then perform the set for the audience and judges. Each round one comic will be “chopped” or eliminated until there are two comics going head to head in the final round.
Comics will be judged on: originality, stage presence and overall use of the topics. Well established comics will judge the competition. Expert comedy judges will also perform (acting as the timer) in between competitor rounds.
Comedy Chops has been produced at The Tempe Improv, Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy, Big Pine Comedy Festivals and The Scottsdale Laugh Factory to rave reviews from audience members, comedians and fans.
