Now living in New York, Jack is established as a producer, digital animator, filmmaker, playwright, writer, script editor, series creator and lecturer in Sydney and New York. His plays have been performed at the Ensemble Theatre, NIDA, The Edge in Newtown, Sydney, The Malthouse in Melbourne, the Royalty Theatre (Adelaide), Abingdon Theater Company (Manhattan) and presented at the Australian National Playwright’s Conference. He is well known as a scriptwriter for Australian TV shows and creator of TV series and interactive scriptwriter for internet 3d computer animation webisodes.<pJack’s journalistic articles have appeared in scientific magazines. His studies at NIDA, AFTRS, NYU exchange program and with DANNY SIMON, brother of Neil Simon, together with his experience working at NETWORK TEN, NETWORK SEVEN and WARNER BROTHERS have made him a leading professional in his field.
For 5 years, Jack was HEAD WRITER at BRILLIANT DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT where he was instrumental in developing interactive multi-path animated series including ACE VENTURA with MORGAN CREEK, XENA-PRINCESS WARRIOR with UNIVERSAL, SUPERMAN with DC COMICS and SPIDERMAN.
As lecturer, his CREATING A SITCOM course for professionals at the AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL of FILM, TELEVISION & RADIO, has proven very successful. And he tutored at the University of Western Sydney in linear and non linear scriptwriting. THE FANTASTICAL WORLD OF SCRIPTWRITING his scriptwriting course has been presented worldwide from the Mid Manhattan Library to Woodstock Film Festival.
Jack was literary manager of Parnassus’ Den, a vibrant Sydney collective of hundreds of actors and writers whose aim is to develop new Australian theatre and film scripts. He spoke on Interactive Scriptwriting at the Sydney Writer’s Festival, and Queens World Film Festival.
As a filmmaker, his prize winning humorous NEON films, ROCK HARD, THREE MONTHS WITH POOK, THE LOSER WHO WON, THE GREAT OZ LOVE YARN & THE ECSTASY OF GARY GREEN & A WONDROUS FILM ABOUT EMMA BROOKS have been acclaimed. Recently, Jack has co-directed 3D Fashion films with Norma Kamali, launched at Lincoln Center for NY Fashion Weeks 2011 and 2012. He is the curator of the Subway Poetry Film series in New York and was commissioned by the Walt Whitman Foundation to create a neon animation poetry film of Whitman's Manahatta which opened the Zebra Poetry Film Festival in Berlin, Germany 2012.
His neon animation HOW TO BREAK INTO YIDDISH VAUDEVILLE will premiere at Lincoln Center in January 2015 and currently his musical FALLING IN LOVE WITH MR DELLAMORT is headed for an off-Broadway production.
