Dr. Cory Rowe is an educator, scholar and advocate for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals throughout New York State. Dr. Rowe is a faculty member at LaGuardia Community College where she teaches in the Department of Criminal Justice. Dr. Rowe has several years of experience working with juvenile and adult offenders in various criminal justice settings as a Corrections Officer, Counselor, Trainer and Administrator. She also volunteers at the Riker’s Island Prison Complex where she teaches prisoners in the College Way program.

John Parssinen is the creator and producer of Human Interest, a storytelling project whose mission is to create greater understanding of social issues by recording and sharing real stories. John has worked in the non-profit field since 2008 and has worked to support disadvantaged communities as a community organizer, youth counselor, grant writer, and program administrator. John currently works as a Grants Manager at LaGuardia Community College.
