Hale is an embroiderer living and working in Astoria, Queens. She immediately fell in love with embroidery after taking a class a few years ago. In addition to it being a great way to craft personalized gifts for people, it is an exercise in creativity and mindfulness. As a school counselor, she even teaches it to high school students as a therapeutic way for them to express themselves and manage their stress. Her own work can be seen on Instagram under the name totes_cricket_lalou (named after her two pups Cricket and Ruby Lou). She sells her work at Lavender Label in Astoria (29-03 23rd Ave) and Brooklyn Collective in Brooklyn (212 Columbia St.). She has a pop-up shop scheduled for June 10th at The Brass Owl (36-19 Ditmars Boulevard). Check out the April issue of Queens Scene Magazine for a piece about her and her embroidery work!
